Nature Camps:
Additionally, we will be holding Nature Camp in the afternoon from 2:00pm-5:00pm. This includes hiking through Wunderlich County Park and exploring local trees and plants. Cost is $200 per week.
Basic: The goal of Basic Summer Camp at Folger Stable is to teach campers what it takes to care for horses, how to saddle up and go for guided trail rides.
Intermediate: The goal of Intermediate Summer Camp at Folger Stable is to fine tune the campers horse handling skills to get them more confident out on the trails. In this camp we will address issues such as how to help if one of the horses in the group is having difficulties, how to cross over small ditches and patches of water, and discuss horse health management.
Advanced: The goal of Advanced Summer Camp at Folger Stable is to give campers the necessary knowledge and confidence to go out on the trails and have fun! By the end of camp everyone will know how to react when approached by the unexpected and possibly unfriendly visitors they might run across, how to deal with trees which are falling or have fallen across the trail, water, steep slopes, slippery slopes and switchbacks. Depending on the experience level of the campers, many of these situations will be practiced out on the trails at Wunderlich County Park.
